Mr. Schwartz is an executive vice president and portfolio manager in the New York office, focusing on distressed and opportunistic credit investments. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2014, he was a senior vice president and assistant portfolio manager at Contrarian Capital, where he helped oversee a group of funds investing in distressed and bankruptcy-based investment opportunities. Previously, he was a distressed credit and high yield analyst at CRT Capital Group. Earlier in his career, he worked at Tribeca Investments and Goldman Sachs. Prior to his investing career, Mr. Schwartz was a professional journalist, writing for the Washington Post and the New York Times. He has 17 years of investment experience and holds a law degree from Yale Law School and an undergraduate degree from Yale College.
