Mark Kronfeld is a Managing Director of Tennenbaum Capital Partners, LLC. Mark has extensive distressed and special situations investment expertise with an emphasis on legal, structural, and process value-drivers and investor activism. He has served on numerous creditor committees, typically in a leadership role.

Before joining TCP, Mark was a partner at Plymouth Lane Capital, a managing director at BlueMountain Capital, a partner at Owl Creek Asset Management and a senior analyst at Aurelius Capital. Prior to his finance career, he practiced law as a bankruptcy attorney and litigator. Mark also served as a prosecutor in NYC, where he prosecuted serious felony cases and conducted numerous jury trials achieving a 100% conviction rate.

Mark is an adjunct professor at Boston University School of Law, where he co-teaches a course in Financial Restructuring. He also serves as guest lecturer at Columbia Business School, Wharton, and UVA, where he teaches distressed investing and corporate reorganization. Mark is a frequent guest speaker and panelist on bankruptcy and restructuring issues and has published a number of related articles. Mark also served as an advisory committee member for ABI’s Commission to Study the Reform of Chapter 11. He currently serves on the board of directors of Reorg Research, Inc.

Mark received his MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business and his J.D. from Boston University School of Law where he was an Edward F. Hennessey Scholar. He received his B.A. from the University at Albany where he was a member of the Dean’s List.
