Media Policy for Media Representatives

Dear Media Representatives:

Welcome to the 2017 Wharton Restructuring and Distressed Investing Conference. We greatly appreciate your attendance and your coverage of the Conference this year. Your presence helps to promote the Conference and expand its influence among industry professionals, academics, and the general public.

Our goal for the Conference is to provide members of the media with ample opportunities to interact with Conference attendees and generate high quality content for their respective audiences, while balancing the need to provide a structured environment in which keynotes and panelists can share their thoughts openly and be candid in their remarks. To that end, we ask all media representatives adhere to the following policies throughout the duration of the Conference:

  • Please coordinate all interview requests with one of the Conference Co-Chairs (Crystal Wei, Jeff Putnam, Vaishali Mahna, Adam Lamm, or Vinit Kothary).
  • Please conduct all interviews in designated areas, including the Interview Room or on-site locations away from high traffic areas that will cause congestion.
  • NO live video or audio recording is permitted during keynote addresses and panel discussions. Media representatives violating this policy will be asked to return their media credential and nametag.
  • All statements made during the Conference will be “off the record” in accordance with the no recording policy. Any exceptions to this policy must be granted through (i) express written permission of the speaker and any applicable departments of the speaker’s organization and (ii) one of the Conference Co-Chairs.
  • Please be discrete and judicious in your use of flash photography. An official Conference photographer will be photographing the event on behalf of Wharton. We ask that members of the media who wish to take photographs of keynote speakers and panelists do so at a respectable distance.

Members of the media may display their industry publications on the designated tables in the hallway of the Conference venue. Please refrain from distributing your publications in the Conference ballroom or panel discussion rooms.

If you have any questions regarding the Media Policy or would like inquire about scheduling an interview with a keynote or panelist, please feel free to contact one of the Conference Co-Chairs. Thank you again for your coverage; we hope that you enjoy attending the Conference this year and look forward to returning next year.
